Candy Quest is a new event running in VRChat until November 6. To take part, all you have to do is visit the VRChat Shop Tab, and acquire your (free!) Candy Codex.
How Do I Participate in Candy Quest?
Once you've acquired your Candy Codex from the VRChat Shop, you can get started.
Alongside the Candy Codex, you’ll notice a bunch of new listings for Spookality! Two that might immediately jump out at you are Treats and Kath.
Treats and Kath are both Companions. Companions follow you around and can be interacted with in some way.In the case of Treats and Kath, they'll give out candy to others... if they're patient.
When you see Treats or Kath in the wild, pull out your Candy Codex! Either Companion might signal that they want to give you a treat. When they do, give 'em a head pat, and you'll be rewarded with a piece of candy. As a note, you can't get candy from your own Companion – you've gotta get them from others!
Or, to put it another way, you’ve gotta get out there and do a little trick-or-treating. Go visit your friends! Go check out a new world! Go find something spooky to attend via the Event Calendar!
To fill up your Candy Codex, you'll need to collect four candies from each Companion. You can't collect a piece of candy from the same Companion twice!

Treats is this adorable creature
Who would take candy from something that cute? You. You would.
Kath is, uh, this… uh… um, ahem …Television?
Kath, much like most televisions, can be customized to your liking.
What Do I Get When I Fill Out My Candy Codex?
Once you've collected all 8 types of candy, and you will be awarded a special badge!
So get out there and start head patting some cute lil demons… or, uh, whatever Kath is?
🍭 Candy Quest Ends Nov 6 2PM PST! 🍬
You'll have until November 6, 2025 2PM PST to fill out your Candy Codex before it disappears from your Inventory. Likewise, both Treats and Kath will likely be removed from the store shortly after that date.
But don't worry! While Treats and Kath will no longer be in the Shop, they'll still be your buddies (and hand out candy… although there won't be a Candy Codex to fill out or a badge to receive).
