Space Jam is Back
Last year, we partnered with the National Space Society of Australia (NSSA) to host Space Jam! This year, we’re bringing it back! In partnership with VRChat, the NSSA will be administering Space Jam – again!
Guided by the vision of the National Space Society of Australia (NSSA) — "People living and working in thriving communities beyond the Earth, and the use of the vast resources of space for the dramatic betterment of humanity" — this challenge invites creators to imagine a future with people living, working, and thriving in sustainable communities beyond the Earth.
Space Jam is your opportunity to contribute to a future where Earth isn’t our only home.
Unlike last year, however, there are new, expanded categories – along with even more prizes.
This year, we’ll be focusing on two categories for world creators:
Sustainable Space, Resilient Earth
These worlds should focus on environments that support people living, working, and thriving in sustainable communities beyond the Earth. They must also be new (uploaded after February 24, 2025).
What that looks like is up to you! We encourage you to design futuristic environments with a focus on sustainability, but ultimately, you can interpret the theme however you’d like. What does that look like in the far future? What would work look like? What would life look like?
Worlds submitted in this category will have the chance to win prizes, judged by the NSSA:
First Place
$5,000 AUD
Virtual Trophy
Will be a judge in next year’s Space Jam

Additionally, while Space Jam winners in the Sustainable Space, Resilient Earth category will be featured in their own world row, submissions that do not win this category will still be featured in the New Horizons, Shared Futures row.
New Horizons, Shared Futures
The New Horizons, Shared Future is designed as a category to capture worlds featuring or about space that might be older or might not quite fit the thematic elements in the category above.
Submissions in this category will still have the opportunity to win a few prizes, however!
Special Mentions (4 Winners)
VRC+ for one year
Featured in the New Horizons, Shared Futures World Row
As with the Sustainable Space, Resilient Earth category, while Special Mentions will be placed earlier in the world row, all submissions will be featured in the New Horizons, Shared Futures row.
